About Me |
|
I became ‘seriously’ involved in horses fairly late in life and I believe that this has actually given me a huge advantage. I did not have the normal indoctrination into traditional horsemanship so came into it with a very open and questioning mind. My first equine milestone was meeting Monty Roberts, this was a truly defining moment for me which led me to train with Intelligent Horsemanship under Kelly Marks. I have now completed all of my Stage I training and am hoping to complete Stage II later this year and ultimately join the select ranks of the Recommended Associates

Both of my mentors share a common belief, that we owe horses a huge debt for the unnecessary mental and physical pain we may have inadvertently inflicted upon them through a lack of knowledge and understanding. I feel privileged to be able to spend my life trying to pay back a bit of that debt and hopefully leave the world a better place for the horses in it

Coincidentally, it was whilst I was on my IH Foundation courses that I was lucky enough to attend a lecture that KC was giving. Needless to say, equine milestone number two ! I enrolled as a full time student as soon as I got home and there then followed an incredible 12 months of theory and practical training which finally culminated in me gaining my DAEP qualification, the rest as they say is history. I firmly believe that you cannot separate the mental & physical aspects of the horse so for me these two strands of training go hand in hand and hopefully make me a more intuitive and ‘complete’ equine practitioner |
